Monday, May 01, 2006 ::: Totally love this film. It took me too long to finally get a copy and watch it. But it's really good. 1. Scarlett and Bill are both phenomenal. I bought this because of Scarlett, and The Matchpoint is an obvious trigger. 2. Somehow I can totally relate to the 'what do I do with life' thing. I don't contemplate things on trips. Perhaps that's because I'm not usually left alone. But I'm a 20 year old too. When you reach the age of 20 you tend to re-evaluate what you've done, what you're doing and what you're going to do. Because afterall the endless opportunities are gone. You do what you're doing and nothing else seem to be in the picture anymore. 3. I can see why a 50 year old would want a 20 year old. But interesting is why a 20 year old would want a 50 year old. That's why he has to be an actor. Who even sleeps with another woman who isn't his wife. But that becomes ok. 4. There are too many small bits I love about this film. The fax machine at night. The arcade scene. The filming of the TV ad scene. Japanese can be so long and redundant and confusing to outsiders. Oh and especially the last part where Bill whispers into Scarlett's ears and you don't know/ can't know what he said. But you kinda know what he says. It makes both of them feel good. And that, I can totally understand why too. How very sweet. 5. I like that the 2 of them didn't sleep together in the film. Somehow that makes the film so much more respectable doesn't it? I wouldn't want to see the 2 of them make out. Smooches are fine. But make up - ew. 6. Bill's acting is really beyond brilliant when I come to think of it. Don't ask me why. I just know it. He's really fucking amazing. And he did win best actor for his role as Bob. Good for him. He deserves it, I think. Fucking amazing.
